Deasy Bamford
The Soothsayer - Creative Development
Deasy is co-founder of Tribe of Doris and has guided the organisation with her love, care and wisdom since 1991. She is our dream catcher and inspires us with visions of the future as well as overseeing crucial fundraising. Her boundless appreciation for all cultures has forged the way for thousands of people to experience dance, music and song from across the globe. Aside from Doris, Deasy continues to work extensively within the Bristol community and empowers young people through social engagement.
Rachel de Garang
The Empress - Outreach and Arts Development
With an attentive eye for detail and a nurturing hand Rachel has supported Tribe of Doris as chairperson since 2002. She has been a key part in the organisations vitality and continues to unearth those crucial paths for outreach and inspiring development. As well as leading on programming and running WoW, Rachel’s extensive insights into the dance sector refresh and uplift our artistic focus. Alongside Tribe of Doris Rachel also runs the popular African Sambistas in Bristol.
María del Mar Hollis Oyaga
The Big Omm - Organisational Manager
María is the Organisational Manager and co- Event Manager of the Summer School. Like a fresh breeze on a summers day, Maria’s calm and focused attitude has lifted team dynamics to new heights. With a creative approach to all tasks, Maria has relaunched our website and branding, as well as nurtured a diverse team in transition. She has been managing the Tribe of Doris area at Shambala Festival for 8 years.
Norbert Freeman
The Roots Controller - Site and Kit Manager
Norbert makes sure that the foundations of our events and gatherings are laid down firmly. Everything grows from there but nothing would start without him. Having site managed the Tribe of Doris area at Shambala for 8 years, he is now Site Manager for the Summer School at our beautiful new location in Leicestershire. He also manages all of the Doris kit and looks after hires.
