In 2016 Tribe of Doris launched the Diverse Artists Network in Bristol, the aim being to bring together artists, venues and promoters so they can network and create partnerships. It has helped people working across the arts sector to understand the challenges faced by under represented artists hearing first hand what would make a difference. Tribe of Doris received Arts Council Funding to organise DAN networking meetings and CPD sessions and the momentum has led to individual and organisational memberships to take DAN forward.

DAN UPDATE
Since our last networking meeting in July 2017, we have been busy building the DAN membership, working strategically with partners and researching possibilities for DAN. We have been communicating with Bristol Old Vic, Arnolfini, Bristol City Council and many other local supporters.
We are also looking to collaborate with other arts organisations and venues in the city to create opportunities and put events on together. If you are interested, want to get more involved with DAN or just want more information, please don’t hesitate and get in touch, we are open to ideas, collaboration and are happy to support you.
DAN has been offered some mentoring from a successful international street performance agency that has been running for over 25 years. The plan is to visit them in July; to gain knowledge and pick their brains, in order for DAN to function effectively and proficiently, especially for the agency development.
If you are not yet a member and would like to be or if you know any organisation or artist that you think would benefit from DAN please get in touch via email to: [email protected]
There are lots of benefits in joining the DAN membership from free opportunities & professional development to tickets, prizes, discounts as well as the chance to get involved with DAN events.

We would like to thank Bristol Old Vic for the complimentary tickets for Medea & Julius Caesar which was very much appreciated and enjoyed by many of the DAN network who attended. Arnolfini for their continued support and space they offer to the network, RIO for all the strategic input and guidance. Trinity Centre for holding our first two networking events, Arts council for the initial funding, Memaps and DMAC for the ongoing development of DAN, Jo from Fool’s Paradise for kindly offering mentoring and finally a big thank you to you as supporters and for making the network a positive space for the arts industry. If you have any ideas, would like to be more involved, want to join our mailing list or to become a member please email [email protected]
