The Tribe of Doris team are pleased to bring “The Cultural Crossroads” to Sunrise 2013. Offering a range of workshops, activities, fireside performances and world cuisine. Tingle your taste buds and find a new path in the Doris World of Drum, Dance, Song and Ceremony! We have over 25 workshops to keep you busy, ‘Grannies Corner’ to help you relax, ‘Seek and Find’ activities for families and children as well as ‘Mama’s Hideaway’… sssshhhh.

Our Drumming/Music Teachers are:

• Vieux Bakayoko - Guinean Drumming (for drummers with some experience)
• Kirby/DMAC UK Bristol - West African Rhythms (for all levels)
• Poco Drom - Family, Women & Community Drum/Music Circles
• Chas Whittaker - Introduction to Middle Eastern Drumming
• Maren Lueg - Introduction to Middle Eastern Melodies
• Robbie Verrecchia/Jamma de Samba - Samba Drumming (for youth/procession for all)

• Saskia Bakayoko/Hamana - Dance from Guinea (suitable for dancers with some experience)
• Elina Kikili/LASYAmovement - Khalbelia (Indian) Gypsy Dance (for all levels)
• Stephi Briggs and Easton Bellydance Troupe - Egyptian Folkloric and Modern Bellydance (for all levels and kids)
• Jane Manning/World Jungle - Zumba & Belly Fitness (all levels and kids)
• Kevin Hughes - Contact Improvisation (all levels)
• Bob Blunden/Bristol Capoeira Angola ‘Bristol Filhos de Angola’– Capoeira Workshop: Drum, Dance, Song/Ceremony (for families/kids)
• Jenny Rintoul and Ellie Lewis/ African Sambistas - Body percussion and African Samba fusion dance and procession moves (all levels and kids)
• Tashi Dhondup and Tenzin Phuntsok /Bristol for Tibet group - Tibetan Dance (for all and under 2′s)
• Helen Baddon and Carly Etherington - Kids Movement Workshop Thanks to Mike who can normally be found working for Locksmiths Manchester but has spared some of his time on the project.

• Camilo Menjura: - Latin American Singing: Songs from Colombia, Cuba, Venezuela, Argentina and Dominican Republic
• Yvette Staelens - Harmony Singing Workshops and Sunday Choir
• Jules Olsen - Traditional Sing-Alongs and Sea Shanties
• Tashi Dhondup and Tenzin Phuntsok/Bristol for Tibet group- Tibetan Songs/Chants
• Sevilay (Sevi) Turlington - Turkish Singing

Bringing together elements of many of our workshops. A participatory event for you to join us round our community fire/indoor space if wet.
