“Different Pasts - Shared Future”
For the last seven years Doris has been collaborating with Bristol City Council Refugee and Asylum Services, Refugee Action and Bristol communities from many parts of the globe to create an annual, intercultural arts event to kick start National Refugee Week celebrations in Bristol.
This year it will be on Sunday June 13th at Queen Square, Central Bristol, from 12.30pm - 8pm
As always there will be music and dance from many countries, as well as stories, nomadic homes, picnics, mandala making, films, international games, art workshops, Chilean food, Tibetan tea and much more besides. This year again we will have a concert at the end of the day with local youth performances and other as yet unconfirmed musicians. What is confirmed is what a wonderful day we will have when we all come together to meet new friends and share the fun!
The day will be full of information by, for and about Bristol’s refugee and asylum communities. There will be lots of opportunities to meet each other, time to hear gems of music, join in creatively and bask in the sense of harmony and love that happens when people gather together to respect each other and enjoy our differences.
For info on this event in 2009 and everything else that is happening in Bristol during National Refugee Week go to www.bristolrefugeeweek.co.uk
We'd like to thank everyone who comes and makes it such a lovely, happy day.
